Strong|MDI, a subsidiary of Ballantyne Strong, Inc. (NYSE: BTN), announced the release of PREMIUM HGA 1.9 gain screens with a half gain angle of 30° for venues looking to optimise viewing angle in both 2D and 3D.
PREMIUM HGA 1.9 offers the best available balance between brightness and a wide viewing angle. The ultra-resistant coating offers more even light distribution, deeper and more defined images. In fact, for the same foot-lambert, the PREMIUM HGA 1.9 screens offer approximately 30% more light reflecting from the entire screen. The high contrast ratio also provides increased 3D precision.
“The viewing experience is definitely enhanced with the new PREMIUM HGA 1.9 screens we recently installed. The high contrast images sweep more evenly across the entire screen surface and provide the quality we look for in our premium auditoriums” says Dan Huerta, VP of Sight & Sound Technology at AMC Theatres.
In the development of this new screen the Strong/MDI R&D team has dramatically improved viewing angle while maintaining optimal screen reflectivity and coating durability. When it comes to achieving these goals, PREMIUM HGA screens lead the way. “The advent and growth of premium theatres requires a new generation of high-tech screens. Our specially formulated coatings contribute to providing the superior viewing experience expected by venue owners and movie-goers alike,” says Francois Barrette, GM, Strong/MDI.
