Dolby, returns to ShowEast 2014 to display the best in cinema technology, paving the way for next-generation cinemas. On the audio side, the company will be highlighting the Dolby Atmos sound format, which has been installed or committed to in more than 750 screens worldwide.
Highlighting Dolby Atmos momentum, the company revealed that 16 new Hollywood titles are coming to the big screen in Dolby Atmos, increasing the number of announced titles to more than 200 since the sound format’s launch with DisneyoPixar’s Brave in 2012. Dolby Atmos comes full circle, hitting its 200th confirmed title with DisneyoPixar’s Inside Out.
New Dolby Atmos titles are currently scheduled from major studios including DreamWorks Animation, Lionsgate, Twentieth Century Fox, Universal Pictures, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, Marvel Studios and Pixar Animation Studios. Four Warner Bros. releases, American Sniper, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and In the Heart of the Sea, are also scheduled to be mixed and released in Dolby Atmos.

Effective 1st November 2014, the Dolby Atmos Cinema Processor CP850 list price will be reduced 20 per cent and is now US $26,665. The most popular object audio format in the world, Dolby Atmos enjoys support from all the leading server vendors. In addition, more than 40 Digital Cinema Package facilities and 100 sound mixing facilities are now equipped to deliver Dolby Atmos movies.
