Carnival Cinemas, a late entrant to the multiplex business which has shown aggression in acquiring other cinema chains, has now taken over the operations of Maharashtra-based E-Square Cinemas.

Carnival chairman and founder Dr. ShrikantBhasi-led multiplex chain Carnival Cinemas has tie-up to acquire 37 operational screens of Pune-based cinema chain E Square Cinemas in a bid to provide the best-in-cinema experience coupled with state-of-the-art technology.The deal also catapults Carnival to the number one spot in Maharashtra in terms of total number of properties (47) and second in terms of total number of screens (143).
